Hey Everyone

Here's an event from Adventure Club (AC)

Title: Pengerang Cycling Expedition 2010

Date: 6 to 9 April 2010

Cost: $65 per pax (Not including food and rental of bicycles)

There will be a briefing session on Monday, 29 March 2010 at 11am, Student Activity Room for all selected participants

Details:

1) Participants will have to bring their own bicycles and helmets, we can arrange for them to be rented at Changi Village if you do not have them

2) Participants are required to be physically proficient in cycling long distances

3) The expedition will include an overnight camp at Batu Layar Beach for a stargazing session

4) This expedition fulfils the NYAA scheme 'Adventurous Journey' Component

There'll be a Blood Donation Drive happening in TP! It's and event by Applied Science. Here's the info.. :]

Date: 10th, 11th & 12th November 2009

Time: 11am- 5pm everyday

Proposed number of donors: 500

Booth will be held outside library from 4th to 9th Nov.

The annual TERRY FOX RUN FOR HOPE is back!

Terry Fox Run For Hope 2009 is a Charity Run organized by Four Seasons Hotel and Regent Hotel held annually. This year, HTMIG is once again working closely with the Regent Hotel to plan for this very good cause.

RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS TO BE PART OF THIS COMMUNITY PROJECT.

You will be deployed as road marshals, traffic control marshals, aid station, etc.

Details of Run For Hope 2009

Date: ACTUAL RACE - 22^nd November 2009 (Sunday)

Race Route: East Coast Park

Volunteering Duration: 530am – 12noon (may end earlier)

Meeting Point: Bedok MRT Station @ 530am

No allowance will be given. (It's a charity run; all proceeds will go to benefit the charity organizations!)

FSP Recuitment Drive

SAA have organised the Fitness Star Programme, FSP. Some of you might not be sure what the FSP is really all about. FSP, started out as a programme aimed at helping all NS-liable students to pass their NAPFA test and also, help them pass their IPPT. It serves as a platform for students who want to keep fit and yet could not get started on a training programme or they do not know how to start on a correct programme.

As planning continued, FSP was seen to have potential to grow into something bigger. It is hoped that in the future, FSP could reach out to not only Ns-liable male students but also to all students of Temasek Polytechnic.

Although it is only aimed at Ns-liable students for now, it is still going to be a large number. Also, in the future, it is going to reach out to the whole of Temasek Polytechnic as mentioned.

Thus, it would be greatly appreciated if you and your club could help us out in the pioneer run for this programme AS TRAINERS. We are recuiting trainers as part of this program, together at the roadshow, there's a booth to sign up to be a trainer for FSP. Clubs and Student Union we sincerely welcome you and your sub coms to join us as trainers to help in our TP population.

You all are able to send in the namelist to me through this e-mail or approach our booth at our roadshow between 11-3p.m.

Below will be the information/schedule you may inquire of, therefore it has been typed out for reference, if there is still any doubts, please feel free to contact me.

Eng School is confirmed of going to organise an
Oversea Community Project (OCP) Trip to Laos.
Date for the actual trip is tentatively set on 4th Oct - 13th Oct 2009.
(A week before School Reopened)

All training will be provided so no worries..
Interested participants or volunteers will be trained in the following before you go for the trip. Students volunteer will learn how to be a students leader, a teacher/ mentors to lead the needy students in Lao.
Students volunteer will learn how to set up basic PC.
Students volunteer will learn how to teach basic English.
Students volunteer will learn how to teach basic IT or PC application.(Some basic leadership training and medic training. )
It will be a very meaningful trip and I am sure many of you will never regret and never forget after the trip base on my experience with students to Cambodia a year ago in April.

The other Benefits -
i) The school is going to pay half of your expenses and in addition you may also used Edusave to pay the remainding half of the cost.
ii) Added Value and content to your Profolio

Incase you guys did not turn up for the compulsory camp briefing on fri, 17th july..
Do check your email regularly.. You will be receiving an email with an attached indemnity form and all the camp details covered during the camp briefing! :D

To all subcomms, be prepared to received a phone call/message from any of the maincomms.

Take note that if guys did not pay up for the camp and did not hand in your indemnity form, you guys would not be allowed to attend the awesome camp!

So, incase you guys are interested about it but are not sure of the details..

Event: Temasek League Series
Collaboration between TPSU and TPSC
Types of sports: Soccer, captain's ball and basketball
Details on sports & dates:
Soccer (5players 2 subs) 20,21,27,28 July
Captain's ball (a min. of 2 girls is required) (7players 2 sub)22,24,29,31 July
Basketball (3players 2 sub) 22,24,29,31 July
Finals :5 August

Extra details:
No admin fee
Seal points will be given
Each sport will have 32 teams
3 round of knock out
Final 4 teams will play a round robin

TPAC and TP Team Sports Climbing is organising ROCKAMANIA XV

Its open to all TP students.

Date of competition : 25, 26 (July), 1 and 2 (August).

Categories: Close Category Competition (Novice & Intermediate) - 25 July 09 (Registration fee: $6 -inclusive of goodie bag and a Rockamania tshirt)

(FYI: Novice is for anybody who is interested to take part, while Intermediate is for those who has a Level 2 Sports Climbing certificate.)

National Orange Ribbon Project

Hey people!

TPSU will be organizing the National Orange Ribbon Project!
It will be held on 10th July (Friday)

This project is to promote racial harmony and to give pledges of support for National Orange Ribbon Celebrations '09 and the Youth Olympic Games '10!

Participants will write down messages of support on the given slip of paper, and then fold it into a star :)

Do go down and support the event, it'll be outside library :) We're one TP peopleee! :D
